EXPANDED POLYPROPYLENE
This engineered polymer was developed as a solution for automotive crash energy absorption, which also had to be light weight, chemically inert, durable, and exceptionally strong.
ONE REALLY TOUGH MATERIAL
With a remarkably high strength-to-weight ratio, expanded polypropylene is well known in many engineering circles for its combination of strength and energy absorption properties, as well as its ability to return to its original shape when placed under compressive weight. In other words, it holds up under repeated compression cycles, such as traffic crossing over a manhole cover. In addition, expanded polypropylene is chemically inert and highly resistant to the corrosive materials commonly present in sanitary sewer environments.
